High Mowing Organic Seeds began in 1996 with just 28 varieties, many of which originated in founder Tom Stearns’ backyard in northern Vermont. What started as a one-man operation is now a thriving business with over 700 varieties of 100% certified organic, non-GMO vegetable, herb and flower seed.

All of us at High Mowing Organic Seeds are passionate about food, farming and gardening. Some of us run our own farms, some of us have farmed in the past, and some are home gardeners. Most of us grow some of our own food. And every day that we are in business, we are growing in a different way; working to provide an essential component in the re-building of our healthy food systems: the seeds.
