So here is the whole story... At the most recent Affiliate Summit West in Las Vegas, we ended up with too many of one particular item, the "ShareASale Star Thingy".
Since video is taking off so fast and making it's way into affiliate marketing, I thought we could have a little fun with all of the leftover stars and maybe have some people learn about video in the process.
So here it is: We would like to encourage anyone to generate a video, featuring the "ShareASale Star Thingy" ... you can turn it into whatever you want. I've had people tell me it is a sponge, a doorstop, a coaster, and a hat. Be creative, and if you just want to talk about the Star that is fine too... do whatever you want. (Of course, please nothing inappropriate -let's try to keep it PG-13ish)
For the first 100 entries received:
We will pay you $10 just to enter the contest, and another $50 if your entry is used in our collaborative video project at the end, highlighting my personal favourites.
We will also make a donation in the amount of $99 per qualified entry (first 100) to the CarbonFund.org which is their estimate for an individual to offset a year of carbon emmissions - so you will be helping them offset carbon emmissions and support renewable energy projects while you are at it. There is no limit to the number of times you can enter a video, but the $10 entry bonus and $99 donation will only be made once per person...
You will need to do a few things in order to create a qualified entry...
You'll need a ShareASale Account of some kind...affiliate or merchant.
Fill out the form below, and we will mail you ASAP one of our extra "ShareASale Star Thingys"... it is light, foamy, and won't hurt you.
Create a video of what you think the Star is... a mop, sponge, hat, pet, frisbee, whatever.
The video must show the "ShareASale Star Thingy" at some point during playback, which you will receive in the mail when you fill out the form below. If you already have one (we gave them out at our booth), you can use that one as well...
Upload the video to whatever your favourite online video site is, and send us a copy to brian @ shareasale.com (Please Zip up the movie if you can)
You've then qualified for the $10 entry which will be deposited into your ShareASale Account.
At the end of the contest, May 15th 2007, we will display all of the videos that have been sent in, and you will all have one month to vote on your favourites. The video with the most votes at the end of the day on June 15th 2007 will receive a bonus in their account in the amount of $1,000.
We can only ship as many stars as we have... so act quick, even though we have a bunch of them we expect to run out - and when we do, we won't be able to ship any more out to you.
