To better explain why HotelsByCity.com's deal is so compelling we need to first explain how the reservation process takes place.

Our Competitors

  • Customer books a Hotel online
  • Customer goes to the Hotel (up to 12 months away)
  • Customer checks out of the Hotel
    Hotel pays Competitor a commission percentage
  • Competitor receives commission
  • Competitor pays Commission to Affiliate (unless the reservation was cancelled, or customer was a no show, or the hotel decides not to pay a commission, etc.)

The Hotels By City Way!

  • Customer books a Hotel online
  • You receive a $10 Commission! (the very next calendar month)
The following example shows the difference if you were to send 10 bookings in a given calendar month.
The best available commission we have seen from any competitor is 5% of net booking amount*
*not including taxes, cancellations, or other fees

Our Competitors

  • Based on industry standards 3 out of every 10 Hotel reservations are not
    commissionable because of cancellations, no shows, or non-commissionable rates.
  • Based on industry standards the Avg hotel sale is for 2.1 nights is worth about $200.00 (or $100 per night)
  • 5% of $200.00 is $10 (but...)
  • Remember you only get paid on 7 of 10 reservations
  • So on 10 Reservations you would earn $70.00 (which can take up to 120 days to come in)

  • We pay on 10 out of 10 bookings (regardless of whether the customer cancels, or the hotel doesn't pay)
  • On 10 bookings you would receive 10 X $10 = $100 Commission! (the very next calendar month)
  • That's 30% more commissions on every single Sale!


As with any good program, we also have increased commission tiers available for top performers!

Note: We don't currently have a way to track phone bookings, but if you do more then 5 sales a day we can gladly set you up with your own custom phone number.
